Many homes feature some wood, even with concrete foundations. Since the wood is outside, it is affected by insects and the elements that can cause damage. These home maintenance tips can help you keep an eye on any issues with the wood and repair them quickly for less damage and cost.

Wood trim is subject to dry rot, but you can wrap it in aluminum to help deter the rot from setting in. Aluminum is not subject to the same problems that wood is, making it a great way to preserve your beautiful trim. Keep in mind, dry rot can still happen, but simple tricks can keep it out longer. Regularly inspect the trim to keep an eye on any rot setting in and for the extent of any damage.
