Prioritize Safety and Never Tape Your Circuit Breaker

By August 21, 2020No Comments

Electricity is a priority in all homes. If the circuit breaker pops consistently, you may be tempted to tape it down. A professional electrician, however, would warn against taping the breaker.

When an overload or short circuit occurs, the circuit breaker is supposed to pop. Don’t worry; the breaker is doing its job by protecting your circuit from excess current. It interrupts the flow as soon as it detects a fault. Sure, if you tape it down, it can’t pop up — but that doesn’t fix the source of the problem.

To keep your home safe, do not force the breaker to maintain contact. Instead, allow the breaker to do its job and enlist the help of an electrician to find the source of the problem.
